World Ministries
Relatives Question Religious Practices
Relatives of the late Jimmy W. Killeen, an Arizona railroad worker, question the faith healing
beliefs of World Ministries, which they suggest may have led to his death. They say that
the group encouraged the diabetic Killeen to fast. Police say that other members, as well as
Killeen himself, believed he was World Ministries‘ next prophet, and that they prayed over
his body for weeks, thinking that he would be resurrected.
World Ministries (formerly Word in Truth Ministries) leader Stan Bennett believes that the
world will end this year, according to a former follower, and the group waits in three mobile
homes and several trailers on an ―idyllic,‖ tree-lined property they named ―The Water of
Life,‖ in Sahuarita. (Joseph Barrios and Stephanie Innes, Arizona Daily Star, 3/16/03)
