News From the Associations
On January 26, 2015, the European
Federation for Freedom of Belief (FOB)
was legally incorporated in Rome.
FOB is a free society of culture and
information, independent of any party
it reaffirms the freedom of religious,
philosophical, and spiritual belief
it aims toward the dissemination,
development, and realization of
these principles within the European
Community and the International
Organization it protects individuals
or associated people from any barrier
limiting or discriminating against
their religious freedom and it appeals
to the States for the removal of any
barrier and for the attainment of
peaceful and free religious choice. In
this organization’s perspective, the
actual achievement of freedom of
religious belief, and the protection of
both believers and nonbelievers, are
relevant factors leading to a peaceful
and universal people’s alliance.
As a stakeholder NGO, the European
Federation for FOB has been registered
since December 8, 2014, on the Official
Register of Lobbies before the EU
Parliament and Commission in Brussels
and Strasbourg. The organization has
members in the following countries:
Denmark, France, Italy, Romania, Spain,
and the United Kingdom.
The NGOs Soteria International
(Denmark), European Coordination
for Freedom of Conscience (France),
LAYMS (Romania), and AIDRL (Italy) are
members of FOB Federation.
In January 2015, Raffaella Di Marzio
became a member of the International
Association for the Psychology of
Religion (IAPR), an international
organization promoting scientific
research and exchange within the field
of the psychology of religion. IAPR
is not partial to any particular trend
but aspires to provide a platform for
the entire spectrum of the scientific-
psychological study of religion for
psychologists of religion from all over
the world.
The next IAPR conference is scheduled
for August 17 to 20, 2015 it will
be held at Marmara University in
Istanbul, Turkey. The conference is
cosponsored by Marmara University
Faculty of Theology and Katip Celebi
University Department of Psychology.
Increasingly, the IAPR conferences have
become an essential place for meeting
