In Memoriam
Maurice K. Temerlin
We regret to inform readers that Maurice K. Temerlin, Ph. D., member of the Cultic Studies
Journal Editorial Board, died suddenly this Spring. Dr. Temerlin moved to Oregon last year when
he retired from his private practice in Oklahoma City. He and his wife Jane published pioneering
articles on psychotherapy cults. A member of the American Psychological Association‘s Task Force
on Deceptive and Indirect Techniques of Persuasion and Control, he was a valuable advisor to the
American Family Foundation. We will miss him deeply.
